GYFFY is the structure of the access optical cable is to sheath 250 μm optical fiber into a loose tube made of high modulus material, and the loose tube is filled with waterproof compound.

Constructed with G.652D single-mode optical fiber, the ASU cable is fully dielectric and incorporates a gel compound that repels water, ensuring the cable's watertight integrity. It also assures efficient transmission in the 1310 nm to 1550 nm wavelength range, compatible with Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexed (CWDM) transmission.
